- most likely 18th century; snaps and hooks and eyes were added to the waistband at a later date; lining is completely shattered

- This piece has been extensively altered at some point, with a silk camisole added at the waistband (the 'shattered lining' - it is not actually a lining, but an attempt? at making a bodice). The extra fabric - perhaps originally a piece of the skirt? - seems to have been altered with the intention of turning it into a bodice, that would then snap to the straps of the camisole. More research is needed to understand the biography of this piece.
